Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week

Please save the dates for Alderwood’s Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week (TASAW), happening from May 6-10, 2024. It's one of our staff's favorite weeks! This year, our theme is “Celebrating Our Educational Heroes,” and teachers and staff will enjoy meals and special treats. Here's what's happening each day:

Monday, May 6: Taco 'bout Amazing Teachers and Staff

• We're treating our Teachers and Staff to a fun and casual taco lunch provided by the PTA.

Tuesday, May 7: Tea Time Treats 

• Students are encouraged to make heartfelt handmade cards for their teachers and other school staff (instructional aids, custodian, nurse, librarian, music, art, science and cross-walk guard) to show appreciation for their diverse roles in education. 

• The Alderwood Persian Community offers a taste of tradition by serving Persian tea and pastries for teachers and staff starting at 9:50 am

Wednesday, May 8: Sip and Salute Soirée

• We're organizing a classroom supplies drive to support teachers' needs and honoring custodial staff with a special appreciation day. Please look out for an email from your room parent with a list of items your teacher has specifically requested. PTA will provide beverages for a relaxed celebration for Teachers and Staff.

Thursday, May 9: Appetizers Around the World

• Parents are invited to contribute hors d'oeuvres from different cultures to celebrate the diversity of our school community and show appreciation for our multicultural environment. Click here to sign up

Friday, May 10: Sweet Success

• Students can pamper their teachers with gifts chosen from their favorite things list. PTA will provide a variety of desserts to sweeten the celebration of our teachers' hard work and dedication.
