For many years IUSD students have participated in an exciting school competition called “ASTOUNDING INVENTIONS.” This is a program for K-5th graders that encourages the kids to look creatively at their everyday life and try to find a solution to a problem they see around them and invent something.
This year students can submit their inventions individually or in a group of two students from the same grade. They will need to submit a model of their invention with the inventor’s notebook, inventor’s display board or a video pitch by December 18, 2018 at the library.
If your child is interested in participating, please fill out the interest form at November 11, 2018.or send an email with your child’s name and grade to by
All inventions will be displayed at the library and every participant will receive a certificate. The top inventions from the school will be chosen by teachers to advance to the district level competition at the Irvine Valley College, were the students can win up to $50 monetary awards.
